Lantern House

A contemporary extension and renovations to a family home within the Conservation Area in Newnham, Cambridge.

MOOi were approached by the owners of this property to create an exciting and dramatic family / entertaining space which opened out onto the South facing garden.

The solution, an extension which provides distinct zones for an AV enthusiast and a relaxing living room, within their respective pyramidal roof forms.  The materials of the extension were carefully considered to compliment the existing building fabric, with the red tones of the Zinc and the new brickwork with its soldier course detailing highlight the bold contemporary form.

The proposals also include a feature cantilevered Oak stair, the upgrade of existing bathrooms, the relocation of the kitchen and utility and the complete renovation of all internal areas in within the property.
