Design Proposals | We are currently exploring #proposals to #extend & reconfigure an 1960’s detached property in #cambridge, CB1 ⭐️ This proposal includes a two-storey rear extension with an asymmetrical roof form to maximise the south-facing roof slope for a solar panel array ☀️ At ground floor the overhang of the projecting green roof helps to limit solar gain & the splayed plan encourages indoor/outdoor living & dining extending out onto the rear terrace.
Externally the contemporary additions are clad with mixed red, bronze & purple clay arrowhead tiles, which complement the tones of the existing brickwork & provide a warm, textured material quality 🧡 #designproposal #renovation #MOOi

This project includes a part single-storey, part two-storey extension for a #victorian property in central #Cambridge.
The proposals feature a double height void which funnels natural light down into a new open plan kitchen/dining area at ground floor, as well as providing natural light into a new bedroom suite at first floor above. This solution maximises natural light and maintains privacy for adjacent gardens & buildings in a dense urban location ⭐️

The @divinesavages ‘Geometric Avery’ wallpaper is quirky and playful, the hue of the flamingos reflected in the custom painted, fuchsia pink roll-top bath and the green parrots matched with the floor tiles!
The ‘Acme’ scuffed brass bathroom fittings, with their aged patina and knurled detailing are the perfect finishing touch for this bold yet practical family bathroom ⭐️

Design detail | Our new build property in #cambridge is nearing completion with the vertical slatted screen for the bespoke #oak stair now installed ⭐️ The feature screen extends between basement, ground and first floor levels. This provides a focal point + material consistency that adds warmth and texture to compliment the #porcelain tiles and #herringbone flooring.
The property is controlled by a fantastic smart home system from @baulogic.uk 🧡 Allowing for the seamless control of all aspects of the highly complex M&E installation in this property! Luna House | Before & After 🧡 MOOi were approached by the owners of this mid-twentieth century #property in #Cambridge with a brief to create a generous open plan, family kitchen/dining space, which could also be easily divided depending on the use of the various areas. At first floor level there was also a requirement for an additional bedroom, new bathroom and en-suite.
In conjunction with expert #craftsmanship from @tomaskitchens on the #kitchen and #joinery, the interior provides a seamless transition between the existing and new areas, opening up to the expansive garden and showcasing the client’s beautiful collection of #midcentury furniture.
The inclusion of full height #pocketdoors allows the space at ground floor level to be easily subdivided if and when required, offering flexibility which is often not possible with large open plan layouts.

Eco Home Update | It’s all about the #tiles at our new build #ecohouse in #cambridge with these beautiful extra-large format (3m x 1.5m) #porcelain tiles being expertly fitted by @boss_tile_stone! These tiles stretch from floor to ceiling and where jointed have been “book matched” to continue the subtle veining and dramatically wrap around the #bathroom ⭐️ Great to be working with #local contractors Offord & Camp and @belvisifurniture on this amazing project which is nearing completion! #sitevisit #underconstruction #sipsbuild #MOOi
Before and After | Pocket House, our compact one-bedroom #home in the Mill Road Conservation Area, #cambridge, is now complete. Replacing an existing double garage and built using an innovative ICF (Insulated Concrete Formwork) #construction, much of the work on site was carried out by the client in order to minimise costs. The modest 45sqm plan is strategically arranged over two storeys, partially sunken at ground floor to reduce the height of the dwelling.
The exterior is clad in locally sourced, handmade gault #brickslips with a feature brown #zinc roof. The muted palette of materials makes a subtle yet characterful addition to the urban street scene.

As we step into 2023 we’re delighted to return refreshed to a diary full of MOOi projects. While we approach completion on some, work continues on site at others and new projects are lined up and ready for a new year start!
To kick things off we’re delighted to share images of our newly completed #familyhome renovation “Luna House” in #cambridge. Captured by @snookphotograph this MOOi designed #project was completed in collaboration with Main Contractors Adams & Newman and their excellent team.
